  • Biggleswade U15’s do the “Business”

Biggleswade U15’s played local rivals St Neots under the added pressure of watching team sponsor “Business Box”.

Under the management of Head Coach Matthew Horgan, Richard Peto, and conditioning coach Andy Barwell the boys were in a positive mood as the whistle blew. This was justified as they dominated possession although were unable to convert this into points This proved costly with St Neots running another strong line and breaking through the Biggy defence with, it has to be said, some ease and with the conversion they took a 7 point lead. Some good forward play before half time gave Biggy 5 points to gointo half time 5-7 down.

Discipline was the main factor in the second half with Biggy maintaining theirs and refusing to get drawn into spats and accepting decisions that went against them. Biggy scored the first try of the second half with Jacob Lloyd scoring out on the wing, making it 10-7. St Neots quickly came back with another try to make the score 10-12 and this is where the spirit of the team came to the fore with clever substitutions playing their part, which was in contradction to St Neots who constantly interchanged their replacements.

An excellent interception from Milo Healy and conversion from Dannny Jarvis have Biggy a final 17-12 victory. This was a true team victory with the subs of Sam Cockcroft, Milo Healy, and Harrison Bristow having a big impact in the last third of the game.

The match was concluded with a hot buffet in the club where the man of the match was presented by Business Box owner Julie Bean. High Praise indeed when she chose Alfie Cooke who reminded her of Saracens player Tom Whitley. In Truth this was a true team performance with every player throing themselves into contact and taking hits for their teammates.

A special mention has to go to Charlotte Tysom who produced an unbelievable pre match and after match buffet.

Biggy u15’s continue to gor from strength to strength under the management of Horgan, Peto, Barwell, and the support from Business Box. We are reaping the rewards from strong training sessions and are looking forward to our remaining league fixtures and bringing some silverware home.

The future is bright, the future is Biggy
